![]() If they hadn’t luckily smelled the smoke their kitchen would’ve been in flames and they would’ve likely suffered serious injury or death had they been asleep. After starting their dishwasher one evening before going to bed, they LUCKILY smelled smoke while in bed and rushed to the kitchen to discover their Asko dishwasher was on fire and shooting flames out the front and sides. My parents in their 70’s purchased an overpriced Asko dishwasher and used for some time. These photos don’t even begin to describe the nightmare. STAY AWAY from Asko! An Asko dishwasher caught on FIRE, almost killed my parents, and Asko didn’t care and never honored the warranty. This is personal since family members could’ve died from a defective Asko dishwasher which they knew was a known defective product. ***Full Disclaimer - I have never written an online complaint or negative review for any business/product. I haven't run actual crystal through them yet, but I'm planning to (safer than our big clumsy hands).īoth are wonderful dishwashers, and I'd be very happy with the Asko alone if we were only installing one DW. ![]() I have put china through both DWs with good results (Miele had a china/crystal mode and Asko has a crystal/glass mode). The Miele only has the upper tray for utensils. The Asko also has options for single rack washes, upper or lower, and it comes with both a lower rack silverware basket that slides side to side AND a far upper cutlery tray. I also like the Time Program, which lets you select a wash time of :15 to 2:30. I like the Rinse and Hold cycle on the Asko- a quick 7-minute cycle that lets you dash a few items into the wash early and give them a head start on cleaning. ![]() There can still be water collected on the bottoms of cups if they aren't seated at enough of an angle, but it's minimal (this goes for both DWs). The Miele does do a better job drying it actually pops the door open a couple of inches to assist the drying process, which the Asko doesn't do. They both do an excellent job cleaning and drying dishes and are exceptionally quiet. We just finished our kitchen and installed both the Asko DFI664 and the Miele G6785 SCVi SF (Futura Dimension).
